In the science of buoyancy, where things sink or float, we want to investigate how the mass of a object affects the time it takes to sink the object.We hypothesised that the object with a higher mass will take longer to decedent than the object with lower mass.In order to test the above, we will fill the a capsule with an increasing amount of gravel and water to fill the capsule that we will drop it and take the timing. From this, we can deduce if mass will affect the time it takes for a capsule to descend. We took three readings per increment of mass to smooth out human error and other factors that might affect the final result.We then compare timings for the onces with the heavier mass and the once with the lighter mass.If Timing Of Capsule With More Mass is more Timing Of Capsule With Less Mass,It proves our hypothesis (An object with more mass will descend faster the object with lower mass.) is TRUE.If Timing Of Capsule With Less Mass is more Timing Of Capsule With More Mass,It proves our hypothesis (An object with more mass will descent faster the object with lower mass.) is FALSE.Form the result gathered,it can be seen clearly that an object of a higher mass took less time to decent in the container than the object of a lower mass.We can apply our research to Scuba divers to control their decent in water.
