From the above-mentioned data, it was found clearly that mass decrease increased the time it took to descend in the cylinder.This can be seen from the fact that the capsule with 21.244g took less time than the 23.053g capsule.From this, we can conclude that a lower mass of a object .with result in the a longer time taken to descend in the cylinder.We can also see the form the fact that 23.053g took a shorter time than the capsule with 21.244g.From this, we can conclude that a higher mass with result a shorter time taken to descend in the container.
Explain Key Findings
In this experiment, we want to investigate how the mass of a object affects the time it takes to sink the object. In order to test the above, we will fill the a capsule with an increasing amount of gravel and water to fill the a capsule that we will drop and take the timing. From this, we can deduce if mass will affect the time it takes for the capsule to descend. We took three reading of pre-increments of mass to smooth out human error and other factors that might affect the final results.
AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT
Should have planned out our schedule.
We were rushing at most of the logbook at the last minute as we did not properly paste in our rubrics, proposal etc. This could have been avoided and should have been done at the start of this project. The video multimedia presentation was also rushed and should have been done right after the experiment. We also should have done the video editing required to obtain our results more quickly.
We should have done more research.
We were short of ideas on how to apply our experiment results. This could also help us to add more areas for further studies.
Our logbook was very messy and we had to rewrite most of it as the person doing the logbook sometimes would not write the date of the day he was log booking and therefore we would not be able to track back our progress.
We should have made our graphs more clear
Our graphs did not have any axis and we had to change them last minute. This could have been avoided if we were more focused at the time we originally did the graphs.
Evaluation of Hypothesis
Hypothesis: An object with more mass will descent faster the object with lower mass.
It is proven from the data collect from this experiment shows that mass decrease increased the time it took to descend in the cylinder.
This can be seen from the fact that the capsule with 21.244g took less time than the 23.053g capsule.Which we that can conclude that a lower mass of a object with the result in the a longer time taken to descend in the cylinder.From this, we can conclude that our hypothesis is true.
