5. Conclusion

Summary of Findings

With our experiment we draw the conclusion, we have proven our hypothesis to be correct as from our data.Our hypothesis is "An object with more mass will descent faster the object with lower mass". Therefore, the object that are in the water is not affected by gravity but affected by the amount of water and air instead.

Application of findings

With our findings, we can possibly help in the area of deep sea diving to help if at the rate which the divers will go down. This may also help with the pressure on the ears the diver will experience during the dive. If the divers are looking for a slow descend we can use a lesser mass to create the diving suit.If the divers want to experience a faster dive we can use more mass to create the diving suit.(Taking account how much oxygen the divers has)

With our current findings, we can apply this information to calculate the buoyancy of the object. First we have to find the volume than we have to find the density is mass / volume next we have to find the force of gravity or another downwards force.By multiplying volume x density x mass, you will find the buoyancy of the object.

Areas for further study

Further research can be done on whether gravity affects the rate of descend of the object. This may clear up some misunderstandings as everything accelerates at the same rate in gravity whereas in the water, the object with more mass will descend faster than the object with less mass.

Further research can be done on how density of the fluid affects the rate of descend of the object this opens up a lot more opportunity for us to discover. As a density is mass / volume, volume is another factor to calculate and it may help us to better apply our application of findings.
